That’s because Nevada lawmakers are proposing banning kratom in the state. Of course, there’s been an avalanche of backlash since kratom in Nevada is so popular. So, what are the odds of lawmakers banning kratom in the state? Read ahead and find out. 
The Proposed Ban 
In March 2023, legislators introduced Assembly Bill 322 (AB322), according to 8 News Now. The bill would ban kratom unless the Nevada Board of Oriental Medicine listed the substance as a registered product. The bill would prevent “preparing, distributing, advertising, selling or offering to sell a kratom product.” 
While that’s hard news for many kratom supporters to swallow, there was a bright spot in the bill. Violators of the bill would face misdemeanor offenses instead of felonies. Additionally, AB322 would remove civil penalties of up to $1,000. 
The Support 
Kratom lovers have come out in full force to speak out against the bill. They believe that kratom continues to be misunderstood. Therefore, AB322 is misguided and misinformed. Further, they point out that since the FDA has tried and failed to ban kratom nationally, they don’t believe Nevada should try. Instead of prohibiting kratom, supporters think there should be more education about the products.
