Where Does Kratom Stand Across the United States?

Statewide Kratom Bans
In some states, the officials want no part of kratom, and there are outright bans. These include Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wisconsin. Of course, there are kratom warriors in these states who are fighting to make them legal.
Local Bans
In other states, kratom is legal but local municipalities have banned kratom. These states are California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Tennessee. When traveling to these states, you must understand the local ordinances before attempting to purchase kratom.
Legal Statewide
In the vast majority of the country, kratom is legal statewide. The states include Alaska, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
KCPA Passed
In some states, not only is kratom legal, but they have passed the KCPA. The Kratom Consumer Protection Act (KCPA) is the law of the land in a few states. They are Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Utah. Oklahoma just recently passed the KCPA.
The piece of legislation allows consumers to purchase pure, safe, unadulterated kratom. The KCPA clearly defines kratom, lays out appropriate labeling requirements, and holds vendors accountable.
