The National Kratom Consumer Council
The American Kratom Association (AKA) is at the forefront of kratom advocacy and often offers new initiatives to keep kratom safe and legal. One of the group’s latest endeavors is the development of the National Kratom Consumer Council. To learn more about the council and its purpose, read ahead.
Need for the Kratom Consumer Council
According to the AKA, the National Kratom Consumer Council “is a national grassroots organization.” Additionally, the council helps the AKA “lead our advocacy efforts as we fight state bans, share correct information about kratom, and push passage of state and federal kratom Consumer Protection Acts.” Under the Kratom Consumer Protection Act, it would stipulate that kratom is pure and unadulterated, properly labeled, and not sold to minors less than 18 years of age. The KCPA essentially would provide a framework to keep kratom legal, safe, and accessible to consumers.
Who Makes up the Council
The council mainly consists of volunteers who want to make a difference in keeping kratom legal. The AKA strives to have volunteers from every congressional district across the U.S. With the team of volunteers, the goal is “to captain efforts in contacting state representatives to talk about kratom,” according to The Kratom Capital. As part of the council, members schedule meetings with their representatives and bring factual, unbiased information about kratom. The volunteers would help to combat all the misinformation out there about kratom.
