“A Leaf of Faith” is an introspective look into the life of famous documentary maker Chris Bell. Bell, who is most known for his documentary, “Bigger, Stronger, Faster*,” takes an unbiased look at kratom and offers a potentially ground-breaking alternative to pain relief in his latest work.
Bell talks to some of kratom’s harshest critics, as well as some of its most ardent supporters in an attempt to get the unfiltered truth on kratom. Kratom, a plant that has exploded in popularity recently, has had a slew of attention in the media, both positive and negative. While proponents of kratom say that the plant is an amazing alternative to the modern pain addiction epidemic, critics say there isn’t enough science to support the use of kratom yet.
In “A Leaf of Faith,” Bell talks (sometimes frustratingly) to politicians who claim kratom is addictive and that the government should schedule the natural plant. On the opposite side of the spectrum, Bell talks to former athletes and chronic pain sufferers who think that kratom is a revolutionary plant.
